Holidays

It has been so nice to have some time off of work!!  Mom got to come for a visit, which is always a good thing.  I think I got more done with her in 3 days then I did in the past 3 months!!  We didn't take many pictures that weekend, but I did capture mom preparing to be Grandma with little Myles.  It fits her so well!!

We did some home searching as well, and found a house that I really liked.  We did put an offer in, but despite the "state of the economy", we got outbid.  It amazes me how quickly houses are being bought up and how much more people are willing to pay for them than we are...ha!  I guess when the right one comes along, it'll work out for us.

With mom here, I was able to get our baby registries done (holy overwhelming!!) and start shopping for nursery design.  Last night, Jonnie came over to help us hang the chair rails and I will get the painting done this week.  Since we won't be moving any time soon, it feels good to start getting everything set up.  I will post pictures as I make progress.

I am also feeling extraordinarily fat, which is a good thing.  I definitely miss my weekly appointments with Irene, the ultrasound tech, but the frequent kicks are reassuring.  Mom even got to feel him while she was here!  This is at 28 weeks, but tomorrow I will already be at 30, so I will post again soon!

Christmas was very mellow, but enjoyable.  Eric and Ivette invited us down for dinner and football, which was awesome!  We got to see Mari, Ivette's mom, as well!  It's hard having family spread so far over the country - I wish we could all be together!!  I was amazed at how spoiled little baby Winget is already, though!  Grandma got him the bookshelves we wanted for the nursery (Yay!!) and a blanket and bibs handmade with love.  Grandma Dee and Grandpa Don are decking him out in Bears apparel already and Dad got him some much needed Devils gear!!  Santa even brought him the gorgeous high chair he wanted!!  Dee also sent one of Greg's cherished baby blankets that was made by HIS grandma to share with our son...how cool!?    Thanks to Mari, Uncle Eric and Aunt Ivette, his closet is filling up quickly with adorable threads.  I had a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this year, but I am already excited to see him here next year...I can only imagine how spoiled he will be then.....

Late Thanksgiving Post

So we had a fabulously full house on Thanksgiving. It was so good to spend a nice long weekend with Jason and Dad. Eric and Ivette came up from Tucson for Thanksgiving dinner and Jonnie, Shilo and Joe all joined us! I am always so thankful for the time I get to spend with my family and close friends...it doesn't come by often enough! Mom is coming into town this weekend...I can't wait to give her a hug!!

I love my brother!

Being silly!

Things have been good for us lately.  My weekly doctor appointments are done, so no more baby photos quite yet.  It seems that everything is on track and going how it should, so that is good!  My belly is growing daily...I don't feel like it can grow anymore!

26 weeks!!

We just got back from our annual Bears trip.  We went to Denver this year with another couple...unfortunately, it didn't turn out well for us, but we still had a fantastic time!
In Boulder, Colorado

In more happy news, Shilo had her baby around 11:30 am on Friday, 12/9/11!!!! I was able to get out of work early and go visit them in the hospital before we left for Denver. Myles James McNeil is gorgeous!! We are going to visit them again for dinner tomorrow...I can't wait to see him! He was 7 lb 14 oz and 21 inches. I can only hope our little guy is just as healthy!

Looking like such a big boy already....so cute!!

Almost Thanksgiving!!

One half more day of work until 4 days off with my dad and brother here to visit!  I can't wait to spend good quality time with friends and family!

So yesterday was the last of my weekly ultrasound appointments...how I will miss ultrasound tech Irene...we have become great friends!  Everything is still looking good and we are hoping it stays that way.  At just over 24 weeks, the little guy weighs in at 1 pound, 16 ounces, which is just barely over average.  He is so funny to see every week though - I swear he knows when we are taking pictures!  I posted a few of the sonograms from the last 2 weeks visits.  I ended up with really unflattering belly photos at week 24, so I'll wait to post those until week 26! ;-)

He was flapping his arms...learning to swim early!

Flexing for the cameras!! :-)

That head is getting big!!!

Veteran's Day

I am sitting waiting to spend the day with Shilo, so taking advantage of the time!   There has been so much tragedy surrounding our lives recently.  It seems almost daily that I am hearing about something new - whether it be a stranger on the freeway, an unknown co-worker, a family of an old friend or the brother of a close friend.  It is heartbreaking to see the effect on those close to me...I only wish there were something I could do.  It does, however, make me more thankful for the friends and family I have!!  I don't say it often enough, but I am so sincerely grateful to have the unconditional love of my husband, the best parents and brother anyone could ask for, and a small group of friends I can always rely on.  I love you all!

On a happier note, the doctor appointment went well this week.  Everything is keeping on track and he is sure making himself known, both through my extending belly and the consistent kicks to the bladder!  Last night, I was sitting on the couch and was able to feel him through my belly on my hand for the first time.  Greg sat with his hand on my stomach for a while as I continued to tell him when I felt kicks, but I think it is a little too subtle for him yet.  Soon, though!  I am amazed at how much more I can fall in love with him each day!  Now if only we could decide on a name.....

He had a big stretch, arching his back and
raising his arm above his head!

He started making little fishy faces, so his mouth
is open and almost looks like he is singing!

Starting to show at 18 weeks.

Just looking fat, but showing a little more at
22 weeks - he must have a lot of room to spread
out in there before he pops out!
